Liriope muscari has grassy foliage and spikes of blue or white flowers in the heat of late summer. It is especially accommodating as an edging or groundcover and there are some varieties with handsome variegated leaves (eg ‘Silvery Sunproof” ).
Plants that have flower spikes are useful as they provide vertical interest both in the gardens and in a vase.
Sometimes there are wet spots in a garden that need permanent plantings to convert a liability into an asset.
