Focus On Flowers
The colorful petal-like leaves are not actually the flowers but are really bracts.
A later common name was the "Cinderella Flower" because of the transformation of the original flower into the varied colors and forms that later evolved.
It became a symbol of the Spanish massacre, the red and the yellow representing the blood spilled on the gold the Spaniards seized.
