- Selected as an Excellence in Education Award winner for both Terre Haute South Vigo and Honey Creek Middle School; he was named the Teacher of the Year for Terre Haute South Vigo High School, and chosen as the DAR Fort Harrison Chapter Outstanding Teacher of United States History. He has received 20 nominations for WTHI-TV’s Golden Apple Award.
- On May 10th of this year, he will be honored in Indianapolis by the Indiana Dollars for Scholars Organization as a Hoosier Hero in the category of Education.
- Member of the Vigo County Teachers Association, Indiana State Teachers Association, National Education Association, National Council for the Social Studies, and Indiana Association for Adult & Continuing Education, he welcomes the opportunity to learn from other professionals
