If You Don't Believe in Rising Temperatures, Here's Your Evidence

fires

Just in case there are still some people out there who think that climate change/global warming/whatever you want to call it and rising temperatures are not a big deal, check out these stories.

First, a new study found that increasing temps will cause the forest fires in the western United States, specifically the Rocky Mountains, to increase threefold by the time 2050 rolls around. And this is just with a "modest" increase in temperature. The same study found that the amount of soot in the air because of these changes could also increase by 40 percent, significantly harming air quality.

If that wasn't bad enough, another study says that western forests will burn up this year at a rapid rate. With the heat and the droughts on, at least 3.66 million acres will burn up in the western U.S. in the next six months, an "unusual" amount compared to the last 30 years or so.
