I think everything with the small farms now, who are doing this, is make-or-break whether people realize it or not. What we're trying to do is ensure that this is something truly sustainable.


Larry Howard of Maple Valley Farm is hoping to entice shoppers to join his meat CSA. We hear from him and four other farmers about what it takes to operate a successful community supported agriculture program.

We also meet a young immigrant from Central America who is trying to make a life in rural Kansas.
