Egg Recall Hits 34 States

Check the packaging on that pre-made salad if it contains hard-boiled eggs -- an egg recall has hit 34 states.

Minnesota-based Michael Foods issued the recall after concerns hard-boiled eggs could be contaminated with listeria.

The eggs were sent directly to food distributors and manufacturers, not to retailers and consumers. Michael Foods is working with manufacturers who may have put the eggs into their products to ensure all are recalled.

The eggs were sold under six different brand names: Columbia Valley Farms, GFS, Glenview Farms, Papetti's, Silverbrook and Wholesome Farms.

The recall affects Indiana among the 34 states. No illnesses have been reported.

Listeria has a long incubation period and can cause serious complications in the young, elderly and pregnant. Symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, muscle aches and weakness.
