[W]e hold the space for people to find out what they need and to ask for what they need. – Georg’ann Cattelona, Executive Director

Bloomington Area Birth Services, BABS, work towards improving the health of mothers and children, and they offer a variety of services for prenatal and postnatal care.

Georg’ann Cattelona says, “[Families] come to us seeking a specific service.”

Those services vary widely, but they all focus on families having a healthy start. BABS provides educational resources including lactation consultants. They provide yoga for mothers and those expecting. They even provide doulas in some cases.

BABS works with mothers experiencing mood and anxiety disorders including postpartum depression. It is a part of their mission to identify parental mood and anxiety disorders and to provide referrals for medical attention to those suffering from it.
