One of classical music's greatest cellists ever has passed away. His loss is being felt around the world, but perhaps nowhere more than in Indiana.
János Starker died Sunday, April 28 at age 88. He was a renowned concert soloist and Grammy award winning recording artist. Starker performed on every continent and in all 50 US states, but he said he never gained as much satisfaction in anything as he did in teaching. At Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music he trained thousands of students and has shaped a new generation of musicians.
