Joining Forces At The Collaboration Room

A group of Indiana artists want people from all walks of life to join forces to create art at The Collaboration Room. Matthew Searle, the founder and director of this new artist-run space in downtown Bloomington, is also the Art Director of the Bloomington Boys and Girls Club. Searle's experiences working creatively with people of all ages and abilities gave him the idea for the Collaboration Room. He hopes for the studio to be a place where people can explore artistic expression in an open and welcoming environment.

"I really want to be the person that provides them with the skills and the technique to make whatever it is that they are interested in making happen or to work with them collaboratively to arrive at something that they wouldn't get to otherwise."

Searle and his fellow artists hosted the Preview Open House of The Collaboration Room last Friday. Keep an eye out for upcoming projects, workshops, Collaborators-in-Residence, and even a gallery store in upcoming months.
