Jazz Faculty Revives West Baden Springs Concerts

This weekend IU jazz faculty travel to West Baden to perform in a legendary setting--the West Baden Springs Hotel.

The Jacobs School of Music Jazz Faculty is that rarity in the jazz world these days–a longstanding working group, able to develop a syntactic musical sympathy through years of playing together.

This weekend they’ll travel to West Baden to perform in a legendary setting–the West Baden Springs Hotel.

WFIU’s David Brent Johnson spoke with bassist Jeremy Allen about the upcoming performance.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, David Brent Johnson moved to Bloomington in 1991. He is an alumnus of Indiana University, and began working with WFIU in 2002. Currently, David serves as jazz producer and systems coordinator at the station. His interests include literature, history, music, writing, and movies.
