George Pinney: A Look Back At 30 Years At IU

George Pinney gives his swan song as The Man In the Chair in IU's spring 2017 production of "The Drowsy Chaperone"

In May 2017, George Pinney retired from his position as head of the Musical Theater Department at Indiana University's Department of Theater, Drama, and Contemporary Dance. Pinney has been a member of the IU Theater faculty for 30 years, and created the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater program, now approaching its 11th year. Pinney, fellow faculty member Ray Fellman, student Matthew Weidenbener, and colleague from the professional theater community Chad Rabinowitz, all reflect on Pinney's tenure at IU, and on what his leadership has meant for students, colleagues, and the American theater industry.
