Columbus Philharmonic Presents 'Silver Bells'

David Bowden leads orchestra w. children's chorus led by Ruth Dwyer

Exciting Arrangements

The 150-member Columbus Indiana Children's Choir, led by Ruth Dwyer, will sing about the Silver Bells in the title of the Philharmonic's holiday concerts. "We're very excited that some of the arrangements for them are done by our own Daniel Powers," says conductor David Bowden.

A Soloist That's A Pleasure To Work With

In addition to the children there will be solos by Brown Scholarship winner Rachel Ozols. "Rachel is a pleasure to work with. She'll be singing the traditional 'Angels We Have Heard on High,' and the considerably less traditional-but lots of fun-'Santa Baby,'" adds Bowden.

Plenty Of Work For The Orchestra

There will also be plenty of work for the orchestra, especially the brass players. "We're doing the 'Canadian Brass Christmas' arrangement, featuring our own wind players. And the audience in particular will notice our trumpet player Eddie Ludemah."
