Cell copies are not perfect--the chromosome isn't copied all the way to the tip. That's where telomeres come in handy.
Why do we age? Science didn't really start investigating that question until the 1960's.
The third kingdom contains all organisms whose cells have a nucleus, including plants, animals, algae, and even fungi. So evolutionarily speaking, humans and fungi are cousins.
