The Human Body

Learn some fun and interesting facts about the human body on this Moment of Science.

Our bodies are amazing. Although things go wrong at times, it’s remarkable they work at all when one considers the complexities of their “operation.”

For example, did you know that if you were to stretch out an adult’s skin, it would be about 2.4 square yards?

And the hardest substance in the human body is tooth enamel. The enamel has to be very hard to protect the teeth for a lifetime of chewing.

The biggest cell in the female body is the egg cell! It may be only in the female body, but every one of us started out as an ovum. Once a sperm fertilizes it, it can grow into a baby inside the mother.
