Roberta Gambarini's new CD "So In Love" features standards with guest artists such as veteran saxophonist James Moody and trumpeter Roy Hargrove.

Vocalist Roberta Gambarini, who’s earned comparisons to Ella Fitzgerald, has a new CD of standards out called So In Love that features guest artists such as veteran saxophonist James Moody and trumpeter Roy Hargrove.

Also highlighted this week: Hargrove’s big-band CD Emergence (on which Gambarini returns the guest-artist favor), Jackie Ryan’s Doozy, and the Dutch Jazz Orchestra’s CD of newly-discovered arrangements that Gil Evans and Gerry Mulligan wrote for bandleader Claude Thornhill.

You can hear some of Roberta Gambarini’s earlier music in the previous Afterglow program Easy to Love: Roberta Gambarini.
