Joni+Jazz

This week on Afterglow it’s “Joni + Jazz: Joni Mitchell,” with a program highlighting both jazz interpretations of the singer-songwriter’s work, as well as some of her own jazz-influenced recordings. We’ll hear music from Herbie Hancock’s new Mitchell tribute River: the Joni Letters, and recordings from Brad Mehldau, Cassandra Wilson, and Luciana Souza, plus selections from Mitchell’s albums Mingus, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, and Hejira. Other artists on the program include Frank Sinatra, John Coltrane, Teddy Wilson, and Lambert, Hendricks and Ross.
