The Indiana chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists recently honored WTIU and WFIU for excellence in news, arts, and documentary broadcasting. The stations combined for 12 awards, including six first-place finishes. Many of the award categories pitted WTIU and WFIU against stations in Indianapolis and the Indiana reporting bureaus of Chicago stations.
The awards were presented at a banquet Friday, April 22, at the Indianapolis Marriott North.
