WFIU and the IU Jacobs School of Music are teaming up to bring you a rare radio event.
On Tuesday, July 23, at 8 p.m., we’ll offer you, live from Auer Hall on the IU campus, a Summer Festival Chorus and Orchestra performance of Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Agnus Dei, and Mozart’s “The Great” Mass in C minor.
Dominick DiOrio will conduct. David Wood will host the WFIU broadcast, joined by School of Music Dean Emeritus Charles Webb, and will bring you a conversation with DiOrio during intermission.
The concert is part of the Jacobs School of Music’s Summer Music series. Information about the July 23 event is here. If you would prefer to attend the concert in person, then you might be pleased to know that buy-one, get-one-free tickets are available to holders of the WFIU MemberCard. Don’t have a MemberCard? You can find out more about it here.
Ether Game and Sounds Choral normally air between 8 and 10 on Tuesday evenings. Those programs will be heard in full the following Tuesday and beyond.
