Official rules and regulations for WFIU Sweepstakes

WFIU Sweepstakes Agreement
By entering this contest each entrant agrees to be governed by the rules and abide by any decisions of WFIU Public Radio with respect to any aspect of this contest. All decisions made by the WFIU Public Radio are final. Disqualification will result if entrant or prize winner does not comply with these rules.

WFIU Sweepstakes Eligibility
The WFIU Sweepstakes is open to all persons age 18 and over who are legal US residents of Indiana. Employees of WFIU Public Radio and their immediate family members, its divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and any other persons involved with this promotion are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law and subject to all Federal, State, and Local taxes and regulations.

A donation is not necessary to enter, and non-contributing entries and contribution entries have an equal chance of winning.

How to Enter
Entry into the WFIU Sweepstakes is automatic for all legal US residents of Indiana who engage in one of the following entry options:

  1. Submit an on-line pledge to WFIU from Monday, October 25 through Thursday, November 4, 2010.
  2. To submit a non-pledge Sweepstakes entry, send an E-mail to wfiu@indiana.edu from October 25th through November 4, 2010. Be sure to include “Amazon Kindle Drawing” in the subject line as well as name, address, daytime phone and E-mail address in the body of the message.
  3. Send a 3″x5″ postcard, postmarked by Thursday, November 4, 2010, including entrant’s name, address, and telephone number, to WFIU Public Radio, ATTN: WFIU Sweepstakes, 1229 East Seventh Street, Bloomington, IN, 47405.

Limit one entry per person.

Winner Selection
Winners will be selected by random drawing on Monday, November 8, 2010. Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries, and non-contributing entries and contribution entries have an equal chance of winning. Winners need not be present to win. Notice will be sent to winners by telephone or certified mail to the phone and/or address provided to the information provided through the Web, phone, or postcard entry. If winner fails to claim a prize within 14 days of the notice, the winner will forfeit the prize, which will be awarded to an alternate winner selected by random drawing. WFIU Public Radio reserves the right to cancel this contest and not award any prized in the event that in its judgment unforeseen developments warrant cancellation.

Every reasonable attempt will be made to award the prize. After every reasonable effort has been exerted (three [3] attempts) to award the prize, and the potential winner(s) have still refused to accept the prize(s), or in the attempt to award the prize and the date when the prize must be claimed/used by has expired, then the prize will be forfeited, or donated to charity, at WFIU Public Radio’s discretion.

Prize Regulations
Prizes may not be redeemed for cash and are non exchangeable and non refundable. Entrant is not entitled to any substitution of prize and may not assign the right to receive a prize. Restrictions on the prize may apply. Winners must meet eligibility requirements in order to claim their prize. Winners will be informed of the location where they may pick up their prizes.

Prize Recipient Waiver/Release
By acceptance of the prize, winner consents to the use of his/her name and/or likeness for purpose of publicity, advertising or trade without additional consideration. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release as a condition of receiving the prize.

Winners accepting prizes agree that all prizes are awarded on the condition that WFIU Public Radio and their agents, representatives and employees will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from acceptance, possession, use or non use of the prizes.

Winners release WFIU Public Radio, its employees and agents from any and all liability with respect to any prize or any loss, accident or death incurred in connection with the use of any prize and is not responsible for the operation, quality, condition, fit, availability or an other feature or risk of any prize, nor for the delay in the delivery of the prize. If any listed prize becomes unavailable for any reason, a comparable prize of equal or greater value will be substituted.

To find out the name of the winner, available after Monday, November 22, 2010, send a self addressed, stamped envelope to WFIU Public Radio, ATTN: WFIU Sweepstakes Winner, 1229 East Seventh Street, Bloomington, IN, 47405.

One (1) Amazon Kindle ( value up to $189). Plus a goodie basket filled with several of the Thank You gifts offered during this years Fund Drive. (FMV-$237)
