Indiana Public Media | WFIU Public Radio - NPR | WTIU Public Television - PBS

The WFIU Community Advisory Board assists WFIU senior managers in fulfilling the station’s mission to inform, inspire, and educate its audiences.

Community Advisory Board members represent various constituencies within the area the WFIU radio signal reaches, and among the national and global listeners WFIU’s Internet streaming reaches.

Board members evaluate programs and station initiatives, serve as a sounding board for ideas presented by and to WFIU, and bring issues of community concern to the attention of management. The Community Advisory Board regularly meets at 4 p.m. on the first Monday of January, April, July, and October, in Room 271 of IU’s Radio-TV Services Building. Meeting dates, times, and locations are scheduled to change.

Nominations for board membership can be submitted to WFIU. Correspondence should be addressed to John Bailey, WFIU Interim Station Operations Director, 1229 East Seventh Street, Bloomington, IN 47405.

The WTIU Community Advisory Board assists WTIU in fulfilling its mission to inform, inspire, educate and entertain its audiences. Community Advisory Board members strive to do this by representing various constituencies among the 20+ counties that WTIU serves, monitoring and evaluating programs, giving voice to underserved populations, serving as a sounding board for ideas presented by WTIU staff, and bringing issues of community concern to the attention of station management.

WTIU Community Advisory Board meetings are held on the first Thursday in March, June, September and December at noon in the Metz Board Room at the Virgil T. DeVault Alumni Center. View the Minutes (PDF) from the latest WTIU Community Advisory Board meeting.

WTIU’s license is held by the Trustees of Indiana University. Their meeting schedule can be found online.

If you’re interested in volunteering for the WTIU Community Advisory Board, a short note is all that’s required. Just tell us a little about yourself, why you’d like to be a part of this group, and the best way to get in touch with you. We are particularly interested in volunteers from the outlying counties of our service area, especially Bartholomew, Jackson, Lawrence, Martin and Morgan counties. Correspondence should be addressed to Phil Meyer, WTIU Station Manager, 1229 East Seventh Street, Bloomington, IN 47405; or by e-mail to pwmeyer@indiana.edu.
