Starting Sunday, July 3, WFIU adds to its weekend lineup two of public radio’s most exciting newer programs, plus a longtime favorite of early-music lovers.
Radiolab is public radio’s fast-moving program that explores science, philosophy, and human experience. The series will air Sunday mornings at 11 — the perfect show to follow This American Life.
Each five-week season of Radiolab will alternate with a five-week season of The Moth Radio Hour in that time slot. On The Moth Radio Hour, true stories are told live on stage by both famous and everyday people. The storytellers work without scripts, notes, props, or accompaniment.
Also starting July 3, the WFIU-produced early-music series Harmonia will air at noon. (The program will continue to air Thursday evenings at 9 as well.) Harmonia replaces Saint Paul Sunday, which has been in reruns for the past few years and is no longer in production.
Both Radiolab and The Moth Radio Hour were awarded the prestigious Peabody Award in 2010.
