October 2013 – Bloomington, IN – Gabrielle Sloan is one of the behind-the-scenes people at WTIU who makes our 24-a-day programming seamlessly come together.
As WTIU’s Traffic Manager, Sloan manages the station’s broadcast content and the flow of that content. She creates broadcast logs, program record and transfer schedules; and manages WTIU’s interstitial content and program archive.
Recently, Sloan’s responsibilities expanded when on October 8th she was elected to be a member of the PBS Traffic Advisory Committee, which provides a liaison between PBS, Regional Networks, and Traffic and Operations departments for public television stations.
In her new role she will assist PBS member stations by being their voice to the Traffic Advisory committee, pass along pertinent information to them from PBS, and make tips to help their workflows more seamless.
She will also assist the TAC with the planning and implementation of the PBS Technology Conference. The Conference is an annual meeting that instructs, educates, and empowers individuals who work in Traffic and Engineering in the PBS system.
Gabrielle Sloan’s new appointment will broaden her scope of knowledge and create valuable connections within the PBS system.
