Our Town: Columbus premieres Monday, March 5 at 8pm on WTIU-TV. This video documentary explores the past, present and offers a peek into the future of this great city—highlighting the unique “spirit” of the community that makes Columbus such an extraordinary place to live.
From its origins as a small agricultural community to its modern incarnation as a multicultural city, Columbus, Indiana is a truly surprising city—home of one of the world’s most impressive collections of modern buildings as well as one of the country’s most dynamic corporations. On Monday, March 5 at 8pm, WTIU-TV will premiere Our Town: Columbus, an hour-long video documentary that captures the spirit and tells the remarkable story of this unexpected, unforgettable gem of a town. The program will also air on Saturday, March 10 at 10:30am; Sunday, March 11 at 6pm; Tuesday, March 13 at 1pm; and Wednesday, March 14 at 9:30pm.
Columbus, Indiana is the seventh installment of WTIU’s Our Town series. This video documentary explores the history of the city and its founding, the role of the early businesses, the notable architecture, J. Irwin Miller and Cummins Inc. The video will also feature the city’s connections to Camp Atterbury, its past and present industries, the Regional Hospital, everyday and famous people, important landmarks, the arts, festivals and culture, ending with a peek at its future.
